Saturday Events

Golf at Chester River CC: Tee off times from 11:30am – 1:30pm ($50 includes Cart)
Shooting Clays at Hopkins Game Farm: Start automated course between 12:30pm – 2:30pm ($23 plus Ammo)
Evening Social & Dinner with Women’s Lacrosse: 7pm at Boat House Pavilion

The Top Game of 2014 is the Shoremen’s 12-11 victory over Stevenson.  Washington College scored the game winner with just 22.5 seconds left in regulation.

Sixth-ranked host Washington College captured its first Centennial Conference Championship in 11 years as the Shoremen defeated visiting Franklin & Marshall, 14-6, in the conference’s championship game on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.  This is the fourth Centennial Conference Championship for the Shoremen, who won the title in 1996, 1997, and 2003. 

Washington College rallied from a 10-5 third-quarter deficit by ending the game on an 11-2 run to defeat host Dickinson College, 16-12, in a Centennial Conference men’s lacrosse game.

In the next installment of Top 5 Games of 2014, we take a look at the Shoremen’s 10-7 victory over Lynchburg in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament.

Today Goosenation checks in with Midfielder David McBrien(Bel Air, Md. / Calvert Hall) to see what his plans are for the summer. McBrien was a top two-way midfielder for the Shoremen last season compiling 4 goals, 22 ground balls, and 5 caused turnovers.

 

GN – What are your plans for the summer?
DM – My plan for the summer is to live in Ocean City, Maryland.

GN – Are you working anywhere?
DM – I am working as a Bus Boy and Food Runner at The Greene Turtle in Ocean City, Maryland.

GN – Any trips planned this summer?
DM – My family and I are going to the Grand Cayman Islands for a week.

GN – Are you playing any summer lacrosse?
DM – I am playing in an Eastern Shore summer lacrosse league and I am also playing in the Ocean City lacrosse tournament. I also am working out at the local gym.

GN – Where your from, what is the best part of your summer?
DM – The best part of the summer is going to the beach everyday with all of my friends.

GN – What are you looking forward to most this fall?
DM – This fall I am looking forward to meet and get to know all the incoming freshmen.

GN – What are you looking forward to most about next year?
DM – Next year I am looking forward to have another opportunity to win another Centennial Conference Championship. Also I am looking forward to another opportunity to try to win a National Championship.

Today Goosenation checks in with Midfielder Sid Looney(Westhampton N.Y./Westhampton) to see what his plans are for the summer. Sid finished last season with the third highest point total on the team with 43.

GN – What are your plans for the summer?
SL – Outside of work I plan on going to the beach and playing golf with friends, and guys from the team live close enough that we can get together. For example Sam and Luke Birnbaum are only an hour away so I will be seeing them a good amount.

GN – Are you working anywhere?
SL – I work at the Westhampton Country Club where I am a caddy. I am also the assistant coach for the East End Elite lacrosse team.

GN – Any trips planned this summer?
SL – My family and I will go down to Delaware to see friends and relax for a week or two before school starts up again.

GN – Are you playing any summer lacrosse?
SL – I will be representing Gifted and Young in this years War at the Shore in New Jersey, but aside from that I will be shooting and playing wall ball for the most part.

GN – Where you’re from, what is the best part of your summer?
SL – Where I am from the best part of the summer is the opportunity to spend your days off in one of the best vacation spots on the east coast.

GN – What are you looking forward to most this fall?
SL – I am looking forward to getting back together with all the guys, getting to see the incoming freshmen class, and starting to prepare for next spring.

GN – What are you looking forward to most about next year?
SL – I am looking forward to the opportunity to defend a Centennial Conference Championship, to taking back the Charles B. Clark Cup in the War on the Shore, and competing for a National Championship.
